8 days Tour from Marrakech to Fes & Chefchaouen

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

Start your adventure from Marrakech, traveling through the scenic High Atlas Mountains. Stop at the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, an ancient fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site. This kasbah has been the backdrop of many Hollywood films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Continuing our journey, we reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Here, visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a former stronghold of the Glaoui family, and explore the Atlas Film Studios, where movies like The Mummy were filmed. Later, drive through the Dades Valley, renowned for its dramatic cliffs and rock formations, and arrive at the stunning Dades Gorges, offering picturesque views of the rugged landscape. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga

After a peaceful morning in the Dades Valley, travel to Todra Gorge, where 300-meter-high cliffs form a narrow passage. The towering walls are perfect for a short hike or photo stop. Proceed to Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and dates, and experience the local desert vibe. From Erfoud, head towards Merzouga, where the Sahara Desert’s giant Erg Chebbi dunes await. Here, ride camels into the dunes for a unique desert experience. Spend the night in a Berber desert camp, enjoying traditional music, dancing, and a delicious Moroccan meal under the stars.

    Day 3: Merzouga

Take a full day to explore Merzouga and its surroundings. Visit the nearby Khamlia village, home to the Gnaoua people, and experience their soulful Gnaoua music, which has deep roots in African heritage. You’ll also visit the Nomadic families that live in the desert and get a firsthand look at their lifestyle, often unchanged for centuries. In the late afternoon, watch the sunset over the dunes, as the desert transforms into an ever-changing tapestry of colors. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner under the stars at your desert camp.

    Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

Begin your day with a sunrise camel trek, capturing the early morning light over the dunes. After breakfast, head to Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region and the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling family of Morocco. Explore the local market, one of the oldest in the region, and continue towards Midelt through the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves and dramatic landscapes. Proceed to Azrou, known for its cedar forests and wild barbary apes. Finally, reach Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its Alpine architecture, before arriving in Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

    Day 5:Fes Guided Tour

Today, enjoy a guided tour of Fes, a city brimming with history and culture. Fes is home to the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 AD. Visit the Fes Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and navigate its labyrinthine streets. Explore historical monuments like the Bou Inania Madrasa and Al-Attarine Madrasa, showcasing exquisite Moroccan architecture. Don’t miss the famous Chouara Tannery, where centuries-old techniques are still used to tan leather. Learn about the traditional crafts and artisanal work that have been passed down through generations. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

    Day 6: Fes – Chefchaouen

On Day 6, travel to Chefchaouen, the stunning “Blue City” nestled in the Rif Mountains. Known for its blue-painted buildings, this charming town offers a serene atmosphere with narrow winding streets and vibrant marketplaces. Take time to stroll around the Kasbah and visit the Kasbah Museum, offering a deep dive into the history of the region. The town is also perfect for hiking in the surrounding mountains, where panoramic views of the city and the rugged landscape await. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

    Day 7: Chefchaouen – Rabat – Casablanca

We begin our day by heading towards Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Visit the iconic Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret, and the nearby Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where the tombs of Morocco’s royal family rest. Stroll along the Kasbah of the Udayas, a picturesque old quarter offering sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. Continue your journey to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city, where modernity meets history. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, located right by the sea.
