On the first day, your journey begins from Marrakech, heading towards the majestic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. A UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient fortress village, made from clay and adobe, is one of the best-preserved examples of traditional Moroccan kasbahs and has served as the backdrop for many films. You’ll have time to explore the kasbah and enjoy its historical charm. From Ait Benhaddou, we continue to Ouarzazate. Known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the famous Taourirt Kasbah and see the old Hollywood film studios that shaped much of the region’s cinematic history. The day concludes with a scenic drive to Dades Gorges, known for its surreal landscapes, deep valleys, and dramatic rock formations. Overnight in a cozy guesthouse surrounded by the beauty of the gorges.
After breakfast, we head towards the iconic Todra Gorge. One of Morocco’s most famous canyons. Surrounded by towering cliffs, it offers both stunning beauty and great opportunities for photography and a light hike. After exploring the gorge. We continue to Erfoud, a small town known for its fossil workshops. Where you can learn about Morocco’s rich paleontological heritage. We then journey to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you will experience the magical Erg Chebbi dunes, one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in Morocco. After a camel ride through the dunes, you’ll reach a traditional Berber desert camp where you can enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars and spend the night in a desert tent.
Start your day with a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes before heading back to Merzouga. Today is dedicated to discovering nomadic life and the traditions of the Berber people. You’ll visit a local Berber family, learning about their customs, daily routines, and the art of living in the desert. The cultural immersion continues with a performance of Gnaoua music, a unique style of music with roots in sub-Saharan Africa, known for its rhythms and hypnotic beats. This day offers a deeper connection to Morocco’s nomadic culture and musical heritage, providing a rare opportunity to engage with local traditions. In the evening you will spend the night in your camp with a good Berber dinner.
On Day 4, after breakfast, we drive through Rissani, once the capital of the Tafilalet region and the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. The town is famous for its lively market, where you’ll find local goods and the aroma of spices in the air. Continuing through the Ziz Valley, you’ll witness dramatic landscapes dotted with palm trees and the deep green of the oasis. We then reach Midelt, known for its apple orchards and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. From Midelt, we head toward Azou, a picturesque village surrounded by natural beauty, before arriving in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” due to its European-style architecture and alpine scenery. The day ends with a scenic drive to Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you’ll overnight and prepare for the next day’s exploration of the city.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and cultural significance. A local guide will take you through the maze-like streets of the Fes Medina, one of the oldest and largest medieval cities in the world. Highlights include the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque, the Bou Inania Madrasa, and the Chouara Tannery, where you’ll witness the ancient process of tanning leather in vibrant, open-air vats. Fes is also famous for its artisan workshops, where you can watch skilled craftsmen create intricate ceramics, textiles, and metalwork. This day is an in-depth exploration of the heart of Moroccan culture and history.
We depart Fes and head towards Khenifra, a town located in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Known for its beautiful landscapes and olive groves, Khenifra offers a peaceful atmosphere and a chance to experience rural Moroccan life. After a brief stop, we continue to Beni Mellal, a town located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, surrounded by orchards and farmland. After exploring the town, we proceed to Ouzoud, home to Morocco’s famous Ouzoud Waterfalls, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the cascading waterfalls and the surrounding lush greenery. This is a perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon, where you can walk around the falls or enjoy a boat ride at the base.
On the final day, we make our way back to Marrakech, passing through beautiful landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Marrakech, the tour concludes, leaving you with memories of Morocco’s diverse landscapes, ancient history, and vibrant culture.
