Your journey begins as we leave Fes and head south, traveling through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a charming town often referred to as “Little Switzerland” because of its alpine-style buildings and cool climate. From there, we continue on to Azrou, where you’ll see the famous Cedar forests and, if you’re lucky, spot the playful Barbary apes. We then journey through the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and dramatic landscapes. As the scenery shifts to desert terrain, we arrive in Merzouga, where your adventure truly begins. In the evening, we’ll take a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp under the stars. Enjoy dinner, music, and the magical desert atmosphere as the night unfolds.
Wake up early to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, as the desert comes alive with changing colors. After enjoying a traditional desert breakfast, you’ll have some free time to explore the dunes or take part in activities like a quad bike ride or a visit to a nearby oasis. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the village of Merzouga and learn about the local Berber culture, traditions, and way of life. The day is yours to relax and enjoy the peaceful desert surroundings before heading back to the camp for another night under the stars.
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll leave Merzouga and continue our journey west. Along the way, we’ll stop at Rissani, an ancient town known for its souks and its role as a historic trade center. From there, we head towards the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most stunning natural wonders. The towering rock cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of the river, creating a narrow, breathtaking canyon. After a walk through the gorge, we’ll drive on to the Dades Valley, known for its Monkey Fingers rock formations and the dramatic scenery of the valley. Tonight, we’ll stay in a comfortable hotel in Dades, surrounded by the beauty of the valley.
On the final day of your journey, we start by leaving Dades Valley and heading towards Kelaat Mgouna, a small town famous for its rose gardens. Known as the “Rose City,” it’s the perfect place to see the cultivation of roses, which are used for perfume and cosmetics. As we travel through Kelaat Mgouna, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the local markets and admire the beautiful rose products sold by the locals.
Next, we head towards the Skoura Oasis, a lush area filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs. The oasis offers a peaceful contrast to the arid desert, and it’s the perfect spot to appreciate Morocco’s rural beauty. After a brief stop here, we continue to Ouarzazate, a city that has earned its nickname as “The Hollywood of Morocco” due to its many film studios. The region is famous for its dramatic landscapes, and many international movies have been shot here, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. You’ll have time to visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a historical fortified structure that once served as the residence of a powerful family.
From Ouarzazate, we continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic landmarks in Morocco. This ancient ksar (fortified village) is made from adobe and clay, with towering kasbahs and narrow winding streets. Ait Ben Haddou has been a backdrop for many Hollywood movies, and it’s a fantastic place to explore and take photos.
As the day progresses, we head through the High Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views of rugged peaks, valleys, and Berber villages nestled into the mountainsides. The drive through this region is filled with dramatic landscapes and makes for an unforgettable conclusion to your journey.
Finally, we arrive in Marrakech, where your 4 days adventure ends.
